About Me

My name is Madeline Polke I am 18 years old from Cromwell Connecticut. I am a middle child with an older sister that is 20 named Izzy and a younger brother that is 14 named Jack. I also have two dogs named Hampton and Henry. I played soccer since I was 5 years old but decided not to play when i got to college because I want to focus on school. Although I may try out for the club soccer team at my college if I really want to play. Coming to the south for college was a huge change but I am starting to feel like High Point NC is my home. I am currently a freshman at High Point University studying entrepreneurship with a minor in graphic design. I was originally a computer science but ended up realizing that wasn’t the path for me and that I wanted to pursue something else. I have always been interested in computers and art my whole life which is why I decided to minor in graphic design. So far college has been a hard thing to get used to due to all the work and tests compared to the work load in high school. But starting second semester I am starting to understand how college professors work and how I need to prepare more for classes. Other than school, I have made great friends that I feel I will be friends with for a lifetime and have already made so many memories I will never forget. After school I hope to peruse a job that I will love and want to keep doing until I need to retire. I definitely want to own my own business that will either involve technology or some type of design. I believe High Point University will get me to where I want to be in the future.
