THE 10TH

“Baby, I’m scared,” I said to my husband of 5 years.

“Why?” He asked as he hugged me from behind.

“What if she does not make it? I can’t stand another loss,” I said with tears filling my eyes.

This was my 10th pregnancy since we got married and the 1st that made it past 5 months. I had miscarried the previous pregnancies and the fear of losing this one too was too much.

He wrapped his hands around me and placed his palms on my rotund belly.

“Sweetheart, don’t be afraid. What did GOD say last night when we were praying?”

“My time of weeping is over,” I replied.

“Good. And what do we do when GOD says something?”

“We believe Him.”

“Let’s pray; we won’t allow the devil plant fear in our minds,” he said then began making proclamations on our unborn child.

His words and prayers slowly began to lift my mood.

I smiled and put my hands on my belly making my own proclamations and saying a silent ‘Amen’ to those of my husband.
