3 Reasons You Should Not Journal

I often write about how to solve specific problems using simple daily-ish writing exercises.

Today I want to tell you why you should NOT keep a journal.

If you want to be like YouTuber x and have pretty month and week theme drawings, but you don’t actually enjoy the practice, please STOP!

Remember how you responded when your kids told you, “All the cool kids do it?”

After asking a few questions, I tell them, “You don’t need to journal. Keep doing x.”

My favorite is the time I told a fellow, “Keep talking to your dog.”

Don’t keep buying notebooks because you tell yourself you will journal or take notes “someday.”

The only way I have learned to break my addiction to notebooks and pens is to unsubscribe to YouTubers who review the newest “special edition” pencils and notebooks.

I journal and take lots of notes and I still have a cool stash of notebooks in my closet that will last a lifetime and a half.
