3 Things You Can Do In 2021 To Be More Sustainable

Because new year resolutions are pretty selfish

2020 was a tough year, and for a lot of us it brought a new perspective on life and how we should live it.

Whether that’s taking the time to slow down, or baking a lot of banana bread — 2020 left us all broken and bruised, but also a little bit more empathetic and considerate towards our peers, and ourselves.

I’m not someone who likes to make a long list of resolutions, purely because I used to make them so far-fetched that I’d be demotivated by January the third.

Instead, I made loose commitments to myself which I’d tried to apply the whole year, with some turning out better than others.

At the end of 2017, I wanted to say “yes” to more opportunities and be spontaneous in 2018, and that I was.

At the end of 2018, I desperately needed a break from saying “yes” too much and decided to focus on fitness, and ran a marathon instead. Talk about contrast!?

At the end of 2019, I wanted to fulfil my dreams of travelling and I did that to an extent, before 2020 cut that short.

Do you see where I’m going with this?

If you’re like me, and you’re trying to consciously live a more sustainable lifestyle, then here’s three things you can do to make a positive impact not just for yourself, but for the planet, too.

I never realised the impact of shower gel on the environment until I recently read up on it. Not only is there a much larger carbon footprint for gels and liquid soaps, but they naturally come in more plastic packaging which is of…
